Warning to Property Owners

     Many unscrupulous companies with numerous titles are contacting property owners and asking for up-front fees to advertise property for sale. Often these solicitors claim to be able to sell your property at many times the market value. This should be your first clue that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
    Regardless of the claim or advertising scheme used, they all have one thing in common, costly advertising fees with little or no results. They are more interested in collecting the one time fee rather than selling your property.
    It is traditional in the real estate business for the broker to receive a commission at the "time of closing". If these companies could actually sell your property as they claim, they should have no problem with collecting their fee at the "time of closing". If you are contacted by one of these companies please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to assist you in making your decision.

    Membership in our association comes with many great benefits. If you are interested in selling your property, we can recommend a list of local real estate agents that we know are reputable. In addition, we can provide you with names of local reputable title companies.
    Our association can provide members with a list of recent sales that have taken place within three months of the request. This service is offered on a member only basis. Property owners have been receiving offers by mail and phone to purchase their property. Although we cannot advise you to accept or reject the offer, we can provide you with the current sales price in your immediate area, so that you can get an idea what others are currently selling their property for.
    We also offer visitor information to our members. If you are planning a trip to see your property, we suggest you contact our office two weeks prior to your planned arrival and we can assist you with a list of recommended real estate agents, sales information and a small map showing your lot. This information will be mailed out and is provided free to our members. Please add $2.00 to your membership fee if you would like a county street map included with your kit.
    In addition to these great benefits, we do provide you with a toll free number you can contact us on Monday through Friday from 9am to 4:30pm with any questions you may have regarding your property.
